Jim Yong Kim.
The former World Bank President (2012-2019) is a Korean-born, Obama-appointed Harvard Med graduate who specializes in infectious diseases.
He's also a former director of the World Health Organization's HIV/AIDS Department (2003-2006).
Soon after Kim started at the WBG, Xi Jinping became Paramount Leader & the World Bank released its "China in 2030" report. https://openknowledge.worldbank.org/.../9780821395455.pdf
In 2021, it was discovered that, during his time as WBG president, he & Kristalina Georgieva (the current chair of the International Monetary Fund) pressured bank staff to alter data to inflate the rankings of China, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Azerbaijan. The IMF found no wrongdoing.
After he left the World Bank he went to an investment firm that focuses on infrastructure investments, called Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), which is a great place for a banker to be at ahead of Biden's Build Back Better. Fortunate timing.
